About Us
Learn more about our parish community
St. Nicholas the Wonderworker
Serving the faithful on Vancouver Island since 1948, St. Nicholas moved from its original location to a beautifully refurbished traditional church in the 1990s. The parish serves as a spiritual lighthouse for Ukrainians in the provincial capital and is the lead church for the Coastal Deanery. It is known for its welcoming "coffee social" culture and its success in integrating new families who have recently arrived from Ukraine.
V. Rev. Yuriy Vyshnevskyy
Pastor
Father Yuriy serves as the Pastor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Victoria and is the Dean of the Coastal Deanery. He arrived in British Columbia in 2016 and has since focused on revitalizing the parish community on Vancouver Island through active liturgical life and welcoming new immigrant families. In addition to his parish duties, he brings his administrative experience to the broader eparchy, helping to coordinate pastoral initiatives across the coastal region.
